      I love the wonkiness too. Because it is so wonky, it can’t be finished without a million puckers. Makes me sad, but it is a beautiful quilt top nonetheless. Unfortunately it will forever be just a quilt top. 😕 Thanks so much for watching and sharing!

    This is an idea with perfect timing! My niece and her family are arriving in three days. She has a three year old and one year old, we haven’t seen them since the big boy was a tiny baby. I have been cleaning my sewing area but still have my current project out, with pins in lots of rows- it’s a quilt as you go that I am improvising. I now know what I will be doing to it tonight! And then it goes into the school teacher tote that you convinced me to buy! I love the tote, although it arrived a day after a work day at a friend’s house! Thanks for what you do for us!

    I would finish it with a stipple stitch

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance День тому

      I would but I’m terrible at it. I am good at loops, however. Maybe that?

    • @maryseaman312
      @maryseaman312 День тому

      @@SewtheDistance That could work ... I think of loops as curved and fun, so that would work. The stipple always reminds me of curves and country roads/forest trails. It reminds me of the quilting on the blankets we slept under at our babysitter's during our naps ... I was about five years old, and I remember distinctly remember trying to trace those "roads" .... I never solved the "puzzle" because I fell asleep! LOL

    • @SewtheDistance
      @SewtheDistance День тому

      Oh, I love that! I need to practice stippling. It would look great on it!

    • @maryseaman312
      @maryseaman312 День тому

      @@SewtheDistance The hardest thing I have with stippling is relaxing! I have control issues ... I find freedom in the loops, but if I don't let go of the control, my stippling gets smaller and smaller. Most times, I have to speed up my motion to overcome the control possibility. I have to remind myself often to "open up!" If that makes sense. My mental attitude is most of the stunting. LOL

    I was so glad to see your presentation! Like you, i have found quilts within quilts, and i have always picked them apart, so at least i could evaluate whether or not i could use BOTH quilts, and i often can. I enjoy finding these! Excellent work... i look forward to seeking out more of your episodes! 😊❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

    Love it!! What a great idea usinlg the comic book boards to store rows until you can get it together. One of my favorite quilting designs is a meander that looks a little like moving water. It's quick and looks really good on quilts and it's kind of masculine feeling. Thanks for sharing a great quilt idea.

    • @SewtheDistance

      Thank you! So happy you love that tip! It is a great way to organize those rows and keep them nice and flat. I really struggle with a meander, believe it or not! I can't seem to get the hang of it. I am great at loops and swirls. Maybe I just need to try again. Thanks for the idea!

      Hi! Thank you so much! I am glad you found me, too! 😀 The table in this video came with my Janome and unfortunately, I don't have any information about it. It doesn't have any markings or anything. I bought it at Blaine Sewing Machine Center in Rhode Island about ten or so years ago. As for my Juki, I used this table up until about a month ago: amzn.to/4eH042f I loved it, but it was a little low and hard to move around. Since I record videos, moving my machines is important. I ended up buying a SewEzi table and absolutely love it! I am thinking about getting another for my Janome. It is great! Hope this helps!
